BROW

Brow Lift Injections

A brow lift is a common treatment which uses brow lift injection neurotoxin to help lift the outer aspects of the brows. This treatment can help improve the appearance of drooping of the brows which commonly occurs with ageing of women of all different ages and cultures.

Over the years the brows tend to drop with age due to weakening of the skin and loss of elasticity. Moreover, some people tend to have heavier or thicker skin around the eyebrows due to excessive skin above the eyelid. A brow lift can indirectly also allude to some of the impact caused by this excessive skin. This is a simple and quick treatment, with minimal pain and no downtime. Depending on the dose required, results can last up to 6 months. To maximise the effect of a brow lift, it is recommended to be done complimentary to the Crows Feet Procedure as they both target the same muscle from different injection points for an alleviated result.

Significant weakening of these muscles can lead to a more prominent and longer lasting brow lift. A Comprehensive Facial Assessment with one of our medical professionals allows for an accurate assessment and intervention plan to determine the best and most effective methods to improve droopy skin around the eyebrows. At Flawless Aesthetics Clinics, our priority is to keep you feeling young, refreshed and FLAWLESS.

Frequently Asked Questions

A neurotoxin is injected into the targeted areas weakening part of the muscles that pull down the outer brows, which leads to a natural lift.

Unlike fillers, antiwrinkle treatments do not show immediate results. The effect of the neurotoxin generally kicks in between 3-7 days after treatment, with a peak effect at 2 to 4 weeks. At 8 weeks the brows begin to lower. At 3 months post treatment, approximately 50% of the effect would be gone.

Generally 3 to 6 months. Over 60% of patients will retain neurotoxin effects 4 months post treatment. Depending on genetics and lifestyle, some patients only retain effects for up to 8 weeks (those who are extremely physically active tend to metabolise the product faster and have shorter lasting results).

PRE TREATMENT PAIN RELIEF

Our Medical Professionals provide an array of options to ensure this experience remains painless and enjoyable. They are highly qualified in offering Pain Relief services such as:

  1. Ice Packs can be provided prior and post treatment for additional comfort precautions
  2. Topical Numbing Cream such as EMLA or LMX is applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure.
  3. Local Anaesthesia can also be injected into the treatment area (or nearby) and acts as a nerve block to achieve a numbing sensation and no feeling of the area for those who are sensitive to any form of pain. This is interchangeable with the term ‘Dental Block’ used by dentists in Dental procedures.
  4. Nitrous Oxide Gas (Laughing Gas) can also be provided, however is not recommended as movement during the procedure may impact results.

Post any pain relief services, chemical cleaning agents (alcohol wipes/Chlorhexidine) are used to cleanse treatment areas to minimise infection risk. Brow lift Anti-Wrinkle injections are not impacted by this as they are inserted in different layers beneath the superficial skin layer.

POST TREATMENT EXPECTATIONS

1% of patients may experience temporary drooping of eyebrows or eyelids, this will also spontaneously resolve. In rare occasions, ‘Spock Brow’ can occur when the outer part of the brows becomes too elevated and procedure a small crease above the lateral brow when lifting them. This can easily be corrected by booking a free follow up appointment.

Pain

Relief

Most practitioners and patients prefer to have some form of pain relief. There are multiple options available for your convenience;

  • Initially, a topical numbing agent such as emla cream or lmx, is applied to the area of treatment. Common additional forms of pain relief:
  • Local anaesthesia using a nerve block is a fantastic method to achieve almost no pain at all, however this does vary based on individual. This is quite similar and sometimes used interchangeably with the term dental block. Most dermal fillers also contain local anaesthesia and hence any pain experienced during treatment generally tends to improve throughout
  • Laughing gas (also known as happy gas or Nitros oxide) is also available.
  • Applying ice to the area prior to treatment can also help reduce the pain, and applying ice after the procedure also helps reduce the swelling.

Right After The

Procedure

After treatment Some bruising, redness and swelling maybe present and self resolve over the next few days. Generally the swelling tends to provide a slightly enhanced effect due to the increased volume associated with this, which tends to disappear eventuate into a more natural appearance. Some patients tend to enjoy the swelling effect, however others may prefer the more natural effect.
