the technology.
Overview
Flawless Aesthetics uses Alma Harmony, a platform with both laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) handpieces. Our equipment includes ClearLift Pro and VascuPen laser handpieces, plus Iris Dye-SR and Iris Acne IPL handpieces.
Laser and IPL are different technologies. Your consultation identifies the handpiece being considered, why it may suit your concern and what alternatives are available. The treatment plan follows an individual assessment.
Suitability
Assessment includes your skin tone, current skin condition, relevant medical history and past responses to treatment. Tell your practitioner about light sensitivity, medicines, recent tanning and any healing problems.
A device suitable for one concern or skin type may not suit another.
Preparation
Bring details of skincare, medicines and recent procedures. Ask for preparation instructions specific to the proposed device, including sun precautions and any product changes.
Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice from your treating clinician.
What to expect
Sensations, visible changes and recovery depend on the procedure. Discuss possible redness, swelling and discomfort, as well as burns, pigment changes, scarring and eye protection.
Ask about realistic benefits, uncertainty, costs and alternatives. Neither a particular result nor a fixed recovery time can be promised.

Your questions.
What is an Alma laser consultation?
It is an appointment to assess your skin and discuss suitable options. Alma Harmony has both laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) handpieces; your practitioner will explain which technology is being considered and why.
Who is suitable for Alma laser treatments?
Suitability depends on the particular laser or IPL handpiece and your individual assessment. Your practitioner will review your skin tone, medical history, medicines, skincare and light sensitivity before discussing options.
Is every Alma laser suitable for my skin?
No. Suitability depends on the specific device, settings, skin condition and medical history. Risks can include burns, pigment changes, scarring and eye injury. Discuss the precautions and alternatives relevant to you.
Can I combine Alma laser with other skin treatments?
Some people may choose to combine laser technology with other non-surgical skin treatments, depending on suitability. This is assessed individually during your consultation.
Will I need regular appointments?
A consultation does not commit you to recurring appointments. Ask why any proposed course is recommended, what evidence supports it and when the plan will be reassessed.
What happens during an Alma laser appointment?
If treatment is appropriate and you choose to proceed, your practitioner will explain the proposed laser or IPL handpiece, prepare the area and provide the required eye protection. They will discuss what to expect and how to report discomfort or an unexpected reaction.
What sensations might I feel during the session?
Sensations and pain depend on the exact handpiece, settings, area and individual. Ask what to expect, how discomfort will be managed and how to report an unexpected reaction during the procedure.
How long does an appointment usually take?
Appointment times vary with the area, handpiece and procedure being considered. Your practitioner will explain the expected timing during your consultation.
Can I wear makeup to the session?
You may be asked to arrive with clean skin so your practitioner can conduct a clear assessment. They will advise you if makeup removal is needed.
How long does it take to notice changes?
Any visible changes depend on the device used, your skin type, your habits, and your practitioner’s plan. Timelines vary, and your practitioner will guide you based on your individual assessment.
How long do results last?
Longevity varies from person to person and depends on factors such as skin characteristics, lifestyle, skincare routine, and environmental exposure. This will be discussed privately during your appointment.
Will I need maintenance sessions?
Further procedures are not automatic. Review the outcome, risks, limitations and costs with your practitioner before deciding whether another session is appropriate.
What can influence my results?
Factors such as sun protection, skincare routines, hydration, and overall lifestyle can influence how your skin responds after laser treatments.
How can I check the device being proposed?
We use the Alma Harmony platform with ClearLift Pro, VascuPen and Iris IPL handpieces. Ask which handpiece is proposed for you, its intended use, relevant Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods details and the practitioner’s training. Suitability depends on the specific handpiece and your assessment.
Can lasers be used on darker skin tones?
Some laser approaches may be considered after assessment, but skin tone affects device choice and pigment-change risk. Ask about the practitioner’s experience with your skin type; suitability cannot be assumed.
Can I be treated if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Tell the clinic before booking. Suitability and timing must be assessed against the exact device and handpiece instructions and your medical circumstances; do not assume treatment can proceed.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Share your medicines, skincare, recent sun exposure and previous procedures. Request instructions for the exact handpiece and planned treatment; do not change prescribed treatment without your treating clinician’s advice.
Can I exercise after the session?
Your practitioner may advise avoiding heat, intense activity, or sweating immediately after your treatment. This depends on the device and your skin’s response.
What aftercare will I need?
Aftercare may include gentle cleansing, moisturising, sun protection, and avoiding heat or irritation. Your practitioner will provide tailored instructions.
Is sun protection important?
Yes. Laser-treated skin can be more sensitive to UV exposure. Your practitioner will emphasise the use of sunscreen and protective measures.
